‘US GIRLS! ROCK’ FESTIVAL 2012
Girls
During the October half term holiday some of the Saturday Club girls travelled by minibus to Newham Leisure Centre in East London for a Street Games football tournament that wasn’t actually on. Instead of moaning and just heading for home, though, they then made their way right across London for the Street Games ‘Us Girls!’ festival at Hammersmith & West London College. There was no football at Hammersmith but the girls got to try out other sports including sword fencing, basketball and rowing. They also had the opportunity to meet and chat with London 2012 Olympic boxing gold medallist, Nicola Adams.
