The F.A Football Futures Programme
News
The St. Matthew’s Project has signed up to the FA’s new leadership and volunteering programme, Football Futures. The programme aims to provide young people aged 14-19 with opportunities to gain volunteering experience within schools, colleges and Charter Standard clubs. Participants are encouraged to gain experience across the six following themes:
- Coaching & working with teams
- Refereeing
- Running events
- Developing the game
- Promoting the game
- Respect
The programme is open to anyone interested in leadership and volunteering and you do not have to play football to enrol. Our first young leaders to sign up to the programme are Chloe McInerney and Megan Smith, two long-time members of our girls’ Saturday Club. Congratulations to them.
