St. Matthew’s Project Youth Board
We are proud to be launching the first ever Youth Board at the St. Matthew’s Project. This has been created to represent young people at the project and help them to have an impact and influence what we deliver at the Project. Ten young people will have the opportunity to make decisions, along with the Project Coordinator and Project Manager to benefit the young people and families who engage with the project, along with members of the local community.
The board members will represent the views of their friends and peers and bring these views to meetings to discuss ways of enhancing, maintaining or adapting activities in order to ensure that the project is providing the best possible experiences for all. The Youth Board will meet once a month at a designated meeting space, sharing thoughts and ideas over refreshments whilst influencing project matters.
The ideal members will be:
- Organised
- Hard working
- Committed
- Able to work well in a team
- Respectful
- Creative
Applications are open until October 8th at 6pm. Candidates must age between 11-16.
If you believe you can make change, reflect and rely on the views of peers and friends, and enjoy being a member of the first ever youth board at St. Matthew’s Project then please write a personal statement and send to the Project Coordinator, Dwight Barnett, at d.barnett@thesmp.net.
You must outline why you believe you are a perfect candidate to join the youth board, and how you believe you can make a difference in and around your community.
Let’s make a change together!
