The government has now permitted a return to grassroots football with organisations having to adhere to strict Covid-19 safety measures. Starting next week, we will be recommencing SMFC team training sessions and SMP Saturday Club sessions. The sessions will consist of small groups of up to 5 players max and 1 coach. A venue switch to the Yellow Cube, Tulse Hill, for SMFC training sessions will make it easier to maintain safe social distancing and help us to ensure that government and FA guidelines are adhered to. All players will be informed of training times by their respective managers.

Saturday Club sessions will resume in Brockwell Park on June 13th but in a very different format. The sessions will run from 10.00am to 1.00pm and will consist of 1-hour time slots across 4 ‘coaching stations’. Please bring water as SMP water bottles will no longer be available.

Time Slots

1: 10.00-11.00 – Years 2-3

2: 11.00-12.00 – Years 4-6

3: 12.00-13.00 – Years 7+

Please note, NO contact football is allowed at present anywhere, despite what you may have witnessed in parks and other open spaces.

Please contact Lee, Dwight or team managers if you have any queries or issues.

We are very happy to be back playing, albeit in unusual circumstances, and look forward to seeing our players at least kicking a ball and meeting up again!
