On Saturday, December 1st, St Matthew’s FC and Broomwood FC are joining together to ask all London clubs to observe a minute’s silence to remember former SMFC player John Ogunjobi and make a stand against knife crime on our streets. John was stabbed and killed on November 5th on Tulse Hill Estate. John first attended SMP activities aged 6 and played for SMFC from U10s to U14s. He was still attending Saturday sessions and Cage Football sessions on Tulse Hill Estate the week before he died. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him at SMP and our sincerest condolences go out to John’s mum and family.

On November 10th SMFC teams also held a minute’s silence before their matches and our U14s opponents that day, Sporting Duet, brought some flowers to lay on the centre circle in Brockwell Park. It was a lovely gesture for which we were very grateful.
